The Baikousheva White Fir is one of many special plants and trees that can only be found
within the boundaries of Bulgaria. The Baikousheva White Fir is a type of Rumelian pine, which
is the name given to a group of pine trees that can only be found in the area of the south
Balkans where the Ottoman Empire ruled from around the 15th century Anno Domini.

The Baikousheva White Fir lives high up in the snow capped peaks of the Pirin mountain range
and is famous to all Bulgarian people due to the firs age and durability.
The Baikousheva White Fir grows to around sixteen metres in height and some of the firs living
in the forests adorning the highest peaks of the Pirin mountain range are around one thousand
and three hundred years in age. Many travellers climb up the peaks of the mountains to view
these wonderful firs as they have stood the test of time watching a lot of history pass them by
while also being beautiful and having a lot of aesthetic value.
