Vivatel sold sixty five percent of its business shares, including those of Vivatel, to an American
company called American International Group for $1.44 billion.
This sale has seen Vivatel take huge steps to corner the GSM market in Bulgaria by
sponsoring major music and sports events in Bulgaria like a recent Pink concert and the
Bulgarian football club CSKA Sofia.
