Bulgarian Climate:
Bulgaria
Bulgaria is well known for its varied climate, whether its the hot dry summer with Mediterranean
winds, or the extremely cold winters with biting Siberian winds.
The four seasons are easily defined in Bulgaria due to the weather that occurs, it shows how
the Bulgarian climate rolls through the months to provide a great source of rainfall and sunshine.

Spring is mild, the air is crisp and the flowers start to bloom, giving way to the hot, dry summer
which reaches peaks of 40 to 45 degrees Celsius and lasts from June to August.
The weather of spring and summer is perfect for growing fruits, you will see many Bulgarians
with grape vines creeping over their garden. These grapes will be used to make home made
wine or rakia.
After Summer comes the long, mild autumn that is pleasant and refreshing. When winter occurs
the temperature falls to around 0 degree Celsius, although if Siberian winds occur then the
temperature can drop down to -20 degrees.
The rainfall in Bulgaria is usually at its highest in the months of spring (April to June) and the
start of winter (November and December).
