Pazardzhik Town:

Pazardzhik is located to the west of Plovdiv and about 100 kilometres south, south east of
Sofia.
The town of Pazardzhik has a population of roughly 81,500 people (est. 2005) and was
founded in the year 1485 by the Tartars.
Situated on the river Maritza and being the capital of the Pazardzhik province. Today the town
of Pazardzhik is an industrial town, and has been since the early part of the 20th century.
The centre of Pazardzhik has developed into a hub of cafes and bars lined along the
pedestrian quarter. If you were to travel to the town centre during the warmer months you will
find a large number of people relaxing at the cafes and wandering around the shopping
attractions there is on offer.
For those interested in history and culture, the town hosts a wonderful array of attractions such
as the clock tower, the history museum and ethnography.
