Varna City:
Bulgaria
Varna is a beautiful city found in the east of Bulgaria on the Black sea coast. Varna is also the
3rd largest city in Bulgaria, although there is a debate about the possibility that Varna has
grown larger than Plovdiv to become the second largest city.
The reasons why Varna is growing at a fast rate is due to the booming economy from the
tourism it receives.
During the summer months many Bulgarians and Europeans come to Varna for the hot
summer weather and the wonderful beach that stretches as far as the eye can see. Many of the
Bulgarian visitors stay in Varna itself, while some of the European visitors stay in the beach
front resort called Golden sands.
Varna not only has wonderful cafes, restaurants, bars and shops situated in its centre not far
from the beach, it also has many beautiful tourist sights like the Sea garden, Euxinograd
palace, Roman baths, a museum exhibiting the oldest gold in the world and the Dormition of
the Theotokos Cathedral.
